Civil and commercial litigation

Civil and commercial proceedings, and the counsel that avoids them.

What this area covers

Civil law governs relations between private parties — contracts, obligations, property, family, succession — and commercial law those arising from acts of commerce. In practice they cross constantly: the same breach can be brought under either, and that choice conditions deadlines, evidence and outcome.

What clients usually need

Most of these disputes are decided before they begin, in the drafting of the contract. Those who arrive with the dispute already open usually need two things at once: an honest reading of how strong their documentary position is, and a route that does not cost more than the matter. Those who arrive earlier need the contract to anticipate the scenario nobody wants to name during negotiation.
